'Back on Board' takes you aboard the ship the Zeelandia. This film is a collection of views through the windows, environmental fragments and images of how the inhabitants move through and around the ship. I grew up on this ship with my parents and sister. After moving out inĀ 2016, I still return to thisĀ familiar place regularly. In a sometimes hectic world where I can easily become over-stimulated, the ship is a place where I can come to rest. Through film I observe my parents and how they have picked up their peaceful life now that my sister and I have left the ship.

I document my parents during their daily activities in and around the ship, which includes getting up, drinking coffee, doing chores, reading the newspaper and cleaning. By showing long shots of these activities, you are taken into the pace of my parents' lives. Slowly the film builds up to the moment when the ship starts to move and you are taken on a journey through the landscape.
